Built by a dad, for his kid

My son got his first 90s.
— then two more.

I'm a busy parent. My kid hates worksheets. So I built StarQuest — an AI tutor that turns any photo of homework or a textbook page into a short, game-like session he actually wants to finish.

A note from the founder
"I'm not an edtech person. I'm a dad with a full-time job and a kid who shuts down the second a worksheet appears. StarQuest started as a weekend hack so I could tutor him without actually sitting next to him for two hours. Two exams later, he had his first 90s — and asked to do another quest."
How it works

Snap a photo.
Pick a mode.
Let the kid play.

Every session starts the same way — upload a photo of the worksheet, textbook page, or notes. The app figures out the subject and grade. Then you pick how you want to study it.

01 · UPLOAD

Take a photo

Worksheet, textbook, notes. Anything your kid is working on.

02 · ANALYZE

AI reads it

Subject, topic, grade level, and difficulty — picked up automatically.

03 · CHOOSE

Pick a mode

Quiz to test, Lesson to teach, or Homework to walk through the real thing.

04 · PLAY

Off they go

A structured session they can save, resume, and actually enjoy.

Three ways to study

One upload. Three modes. Your kid picks the vibe.

Homework

Pulls the actual questions from the worksheet, walks through them, and quietly inserts extra teaching when a concept is wobbly.

Mission Control

The concepts they keep getting wrong,
in one place.

Every quiz, lesson, and homework session tells us something about what your kid actually understands. StarQuest groups that into concepts — so instead of doom-scrolling scores, you see exactly which ideas need work and can launch a focused session with one tap.

The gamification bit

Every finished session earns XP.
Every few sessions, a new rank.

Fifteen hero tiers, from Spark Seed to the top. Progress is always visible between sessions — and a level-up is a moment your kid remembers. Scores and concept mastery stay the real story; this just makes the story worth finishing.

The results bit, honestly

We practised for two exams.
He came home with two 90s.

Before StarQuest, his report card was a sea of 60s and 70s. After using a scrappy POC of this product to prep for two exams, he got his first two 90s — back to back. I wrote the whole thing up: what we did, what we didn't, and the parts I got wrong along the way.
